Australia Day Awards Nomination Form

Each year on Australia Day, Council recognises the contributions of difference individuals to our community. Seeking nominations from the community, the Australia Day Committee awards a Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (aged between 16 and 24), Senior Citizen of the Year, and an Organisation of the Year.

Busking Application Form

As part of the planning process for a Busking Permit there is a need to lodge notice with various authorities as early as possible. Preliminary advice will ensure that those involved/participating are included in the early planning stages and that authorities can provide the best possible support and also enable Council to provide sufficient notice to its insurers.

Christmas Competition

Each Christmas season, Council celebrates the festive season with a lights and displays community competition. Homes and businesses are encourage to decorate their frontage and enter the competition in categories Best Grong Grong House, Best Barellan House, Best Narrandera House, Best Narrandera Street, Best Rural Mail Box and Best Business. The winner of each category (except Best Business) receives $500 worth of gift vouchers to spend locally, while the best business receives a fun trophy.

Rating Category – Application for farmland rating category

For land to be rated as Farmland, Council must determine that the land meets the requirements for categorisation as “Farmland” which is prescribed in the Local Government Act 1993. The following guide provides details of this under the heading: Important information to assist you in determining your rating category.

Rating Category – Request for revision of rating category

In accordance with the Local Government Act, 1993 Council must declare each parcel of land within the Council area to be within one of the following categories - Farmland, Mining, Residential or Business. Council presently has one category for farmland, one category and two sub-categories for residential, one category and two sub-categories for business. The category or sub-category for your property is clearly printed on the front of your annual rate notice. A ratepayer may apply to Council to have a land category or sub-category reviewed by filling in and submitting the Request for revision of rating category application form.
