Council wishes to advise that weather permitting, a controlled hazard reduction burn will occur at Narrandera Leeton Airport on Saturday, 15 February from 2.30pm for an expected duration of 2 to 3 hours. 

The hazard reduction burn will be overseen by various Rural Fire Service brigades and expected smoke and haze will be visible throughout Narrandera, Yanco, Leeton areas and surrounds. 

Rural Fire Services use this exercise for training purposes annually and it also assists Council in managing the airside surrounds of the airport. 

The ongoing assistance of the Rural Fire Service in overseeing the hazard reduction burn is appreciated by Council.

Should the weather be unsuitable on the day, the planned hazard reduction burn will be postponed to a later date.
