Narrandera Shire Council is voicing its strong support for the campaign to protect essential health services in rural and regional New South Wales, following recent concerns raised about cuts to services that directly affect the wellbeing of the community.
The proposed removal of critical drugs and equipment for Intensive Care Paramedics from non-category A and B stations and vehicles has raised alarms for residents and healthcare professionals alike.
Narrandera Shire Council Mayor, Cr Neville Kschenka emphasised the importance of these services for the health and safety of rural communities.
"Health services in regional areas like ours are not just a convenience - they are a lifeline."
"Cuts to essential emergency medical services would place unnecessary strain on our healthcare system and delay urgent care."
Narrandera Shire Council shares the concerns expressed by the Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke MP, and strongly supports her call for the NSW government to maintain vital health services. The survey requires 10,000 signatures and is available at the Council Administration Building and Narrandera Library.
Narrandera Shire Council encourages residents to sign the petition and lend their voice to the growing campaign to preserve these essential services. Information about how to get involved is available by contacting the Cootamundra electorate office at cootamundra@parliament.nsw.gov.au.
