Management of Bookings
Council shall manage all booking in accordance with Councils Policy CS90 Street Stalls and Raffle Ticket Sales and the organiser of the activity shall adhere to the provision of this policy.
Terms and Conditions
It is the responsibility of the applicant seeking approval to conduct the street stall or sell raffle tickets that persons participating in the planned activity are aware of the following:
- are made aware of any inherent risks involved in the activity and it shall be presumed that persons are aware of these risks;
- conduct themselves in an appropriate and responsible manner and that the persons do not leave themselves or any other persons sharing the public space at risk of injury or ill health;
- conduct a pre-event inspection of the site and the equipment to be used ensuring that the site and the equipment are safe to use in that location. Any unsafe footpaths, paved areas or equipment supplied by Council should not be used for the proposed activity and should be reported to Council immediately;
- exit the area used in a clean and tidy condition including the removal of all rubbish, food scraps etc;
- all portable structures are used correctly and are included within the risk assessment supplied by the organiser in association with the activity;
- are aware that the parking of vehicles in East Street is not encouraged and vehicles should be parked at an alternate location.
Applicants must make themselves conversant with orders issued by the NSW Minister for Health in relation to Covid-19 at https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19. Activities undertaken by the applicant shall not contravene this order.
Guidelines
It is the responsibility of the applicant seeking approval to conduct the street stall to:
- contact Narrandera Newsagency in person or by telephoning 02 6959 1274 the day prior to the event if the Council supplied timber fold-up table and chairs are required to be used. The applicant or persons participating in the activity are NOT to carry the supplied equipment from the rear of the Narrandera Newsagency to the East Street footpath; similarly the applicant or persons participating in the activity are NOT to carry the supplied equipment to the rear of the Narrandera Newsagency;
- accept responsibility for the cost of repair of any damage or breakage to any part of the site or property of the Council caused through the improper use of the site or equipment by persons participating in the planned activity;
- ensure that the activity being conducted is within the specifications of the applicant’s current public liability insurance and that the public liability insurance is current at the time of use;
- co-operate with Council by complying with all health and safety initiatives and directions including the consumption of alcohol on public land;
- ensure that there is no interruption to the access or normal operations of adjoining businesses and that normal pedestrian traffic flow is not hindered and that there is no over-zealous selling by persons participating in planned activity;
- report any incident or injury to Council as soon as possible and follow up such advice with a written statement attaching other appropriate documentation (such as photographs or witness statements) to support the report of incident or injury.
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT PRIVACY
- All information, including personal information, collected by Narrandera Shire Council is protected by the Privacy & Personal Information Protection Act, 1998. The collection of such information by Council shall be used for Council purposes only and will assist Council to carry out its statutory obligations in accordance with the Local Government Act, 1993 and other associated legislation. Such information may be passed on to those third parties authorised by law to receive it.
